If the blood of bulls and of goats and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh how much more will the blood of Christ who through the eternal spirit offered himself without spot to God purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. For God hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. In him we live and move and have our being. If we walk in the light as he is in the light we have fellowship one with another. I am seated above in heavenly places in Christ Jesus far above all principalities and powers and dominions and mights.
So it appears that God has given us the opportunity to live a more spiritual life according to his Rx. Jesus Christ has succeeded in living the human experience through daily discussion with the Father. Jesus said I only do what I see the Father do and I only say what I hear the Father say. The Father conversed with his son via the Holy Spirit. When asked about God Jesus said you see the wind by the rustling of the leaves but you don’t know where it came from neither do you know where it is going, the same is true of the Spirit. Jesus also taught that the Spirit and the word of God agree. Therefore if something does not align with the Word of God then the Holy Spirit will not approve. Some speak of having an inner urgency in the core of their being to respond in a differing way unlike usual and customary means.
This awareness or instantaneous knowing something or how to respond is being led or guided by your inner man or the human spirit and experiencing the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said to his disciples that he would send the promise of the Holy Spirit when he returned to heaven to be with his father. He will be in you and will guide you into all truth and righteousness for Jesus’ name sake. Jesus also said these things that I do you also shall do and even greater things because I go back to the father. Anything that Jesus did including miracles were initiated by the prompting of the Holy Spirit plus the act of obedience to that leading of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said he could do nothing apart from the Holy Spirit so the same applies to us as well. We must trust that the Holy Spirit will direct our lives and actions if we ask him to be involved in our lives. In this way we are being the hands and feet of God to our fellow man. We become the willing and obedient servant and God gets the glory for the results. God working in me both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
